how it works

The thought of fostering might have you picturing what the day-to-day looks like for foster families. With every step of the process, fostering in Carmarthenshire is more connected than you might think.

We offer specialist training and support to all our foster carers, and their families, whenever they need it. We’re available by phone, text, email – whenever you need us.

At Foster Wales Carmarthenshire, support is what we do. For the children in our care, for their foster families and for the skilled professionals who work with us every day.

We’re only able to offer the level of support we do because every Local Authority across Wales works as one big team. And because we’re not-for-profit, absolutely everything goes back into the service we provide, to make us better as what we do.

what makes us different

We’re not your typical fostering agency. Foster Wales is made up of 22 dedicated Local Authority fostering teams all across Wales, including ours here in Carmarthenshire.

This local emphasis means we’re committed to Carmarthenshire. We want children in Carmarthenshire to stay in their local communities, maintaining their cultural backgrounds and important connections. Every child, after all, deserves the chance to belong.

The focus on community is what sets us apart from the rest. Our priority is to ensure that children stay in the area they grew up in. We want them to feel at home in a familiar place.
