support

With Foster Wales, you’re never on your own. You have a team on hand to support you at every stage, no matter what. We’re always here for you.

You’ll work closely with a skilled and professional social worker and have access to a range of support groups. These groups are beneficial as they’ll enable you to meet other foster carers. You can talk, listen and share your experiences with people in the same boat as you – people who understand. Peer support is available with every local Foster Wales team and can make a huge difference.

Professional support is available too. We’re fully committed to working as a team with our foster carers, which means always being on hand for anything you need.

You’ll find new communities through Foster Wales, be it support groups for men who foster to specialist kinds of foster carers. You’ll be surrounded by people who understand.

fostering community

We stay connected.

At Foster Wales Carmarthenshire, we value connection. You’ll be invited to events and activities to connect you to other foster families, giving you new experiences, memories and the chance to form new friendships.

You’ll also be able to access a wealth of information and advice online, so you’ll never feel alone on your journey.

When you join Foster Wales, we cover the cost of your membership to The Fostering Network (TFN) and the Association for Fostering and Adoption (AFA) Cymru. Why? We appreciate just how much these specialist fostering organisations can help you – the independent support, private advice guidance and wealth of other benefits they offer are truly priceless.
